How To Setup Disklavier TV with a Yamaha Enspire in 3 Phases

As a piano technician, I know that Disklavier TV is a great way to showcase the capabilities of the Yamaha Disklavier Enspire on a player piano beyond the built-in songs and Disklavier Radio.

It allows listeners to view real time performances and previously recorded piano performances through the cutting-edge technology of Disklavier pianos from the comfort of their living room

Setup is a little more complicated than getting Disklavier Radio to work, but it opens a whole new realm of possibilities with exclusive content.

In less than 1 hour, you can expect to be able to get intuitive access to Enspire TV.

Generally, it takes more time on the first try to get the playback system up and running, but hopefully this article will help you reduce setup time significantly when setting up Yamaha TV for a Yamaha Disklavier Piano.

Can older Yamaha player pianos have Disklavier TV?

If you have a Mark IV or E3, then it becomes possible ONLY after upgrading to a DKC-900.

*When upgrading, it's always recommended to have maintenance repair work done on the power supply of these older player systems. This way you'll guarantee many years more of longevity for your player piano.

Contact your local Yamaha dealer to have a professional piano technician complete the installation. All installations are completed by field service technicians.

DisklavierTV setup in 3 phases

1st Phase: Preliminary tasks

• Plug piano into an outlet

• Plug TV into an outlet

• Insert UD-WL01 (Explained: Yamaha UD-WL01)

• Turn on the Disklavier

• Turn on the monitor/TV screen

• Download the Enspire Controller App/Enspire App

• Update to the latest software/firmware version of the Disklavier (How to Update Firmware)

2nd Phase: Main Hardware Setup

• Connect the Disklavier to the Internet (Connect Piano to Internet [3 Ways])

• Wirelessly “pair” the bluetooth adapter to the “Smart TV”

...If you don't have a "Smart TV" with bluetooth capability:

1. Plug in the AppleTV accessory to an outlet

2. Connect the AppleTV to the monitor/TV screen using an HDMI cable

3. Wirelessly “pair” the bluetooth adapter to the Apple TV

3rd Phase: Final Steps

• Create a new account with Yamaha @ Shop.USA.Yamaha.com

• Subscribe to Disklavier Radio (How to Subscribe)

• Click on the Disklavier TV tab

• Select a video to start

• Screen share from your mobile device to the TV screen (How to screen share for Android)

Esinkin Bluetooth hardware Installation

The purpose of the bluetooth adapter is so that the sound can be relayed back into the fully-integrated speakers under the piano AFTER the video and audio source has been "screen shared" by your iPhone/iPad device to the monitor/TV screen.

In short, the Bluetooth Adapter is necessary to “pair” either AppleTV and “Smart TV” to the piano.

The audio is received by the piano speakers using this device.

Esinkin Bluetooth Adapter hardware and software setup

1. Plug in the Bluetooth Adapter to an outlet.

2. Plug in the RCA cables from the Bluetooth Adapter to the Omni in auxiliary jacks oo the CC unit underneath the piano soundboard.

3. “Pair” the Bluetooth Adapter by pressing the big pairing button on the device; Select and connect to the “Esinkin BT Adapter” in AppleTV or “Smart TV” settings.

4. Be sure that the audio output of the AppleTV or “Smart TV” goes through the “Esinkin BT Adapter.”

The end-to-end RCA cables are plugged into the Bluetooth adapter as well as into the omni in of the CC unit which is located underneath the soundboard of the piano.

How to pair the Logitech / Eskinkin bt Adapter?

Press down 3 times on the big "pairing" button on the face of the bluetooth adapter so that it can begin to pair.

If the RCA cables are plugged into the correct location, you should be able to hear 2 tones as the bluetooth adapter is powering on.

When paired properly, you will have full audio connectivity through the piano speakers along with the player pianos' playback functionality.

*Find the Logitech / Esinkin bt adapter under bluetooth devices to pair to the monitor.

Where do I plugin the bluetooth adapter to my Disklavier?

Bluetooth Adapter is plugged into a power source near/underneath the piano.

I prefer to have a power cord going to the underside of the piano so that all the cables are condensed and neat.

AppleTV Installation (If you don't have a Smart TV)

The Apple TV is necessary to “pair” from the monitor/TV screen to the bluetooth adapter underneath the piano.

If the customer owns a "Smart TV," then an Apple TV is not necessary.

After finding that you need an AppleTV, do the following:

1. Plug in the Apple TV to a wall outlet

2. Plug the HDMI Cable from the Apple TV to the monitor/TV screen.

How do I pair the Esinkin / Logitech bt adapter on Apple TV?

Check the "Remotes & Devices" tab on the Apple TV to be sure that the adapter is connected to the Apple TV.

How to Screenshare DisklavierTV to the monitor/TV screen from an iPhone?

After sliding your finger down from the top edge of the right hand side of the smart device (iPhone/iPad) screen, click on the two rectangles on the screen and share to whichever device you want ("living room TV," "name of your TV," “Samsung1234” etc.)

Troubleshoot Disklavier TV: Be sure of a few things

• The paid subscription to Disklavier Radio should already work flawlessly

• Make sure your internet is faster than 130 mbps

• Enter same WiFi network for Disklavier as well as the mobile device

• Bluetooth should be "off" on the device (iPhone/iPad) you are navigating through

• Audio output of the AppleTV/“Smart TV” should have "Esinkin BT Adapter" selected

• Click the Bluetooth Adapter 3 times so that the blue light flashes rapidly to "pair" to the TV properly

• Close all other Disklavier Tabs

• "Forget" other bluetooth networks that aren't being used
