Here's my HONEST review of my childhood piano metronome on display here in this photo!

I've enjoyed this metronome for over 20 years! I have a few insights to its quality, use, and benefits overtime using a metronome such as this.

A metronome like this is one of the most popular piano playing accessories.

It has a classic essence and beauty that sets the stage for music lessons and hours practicing musical instruments.

Should you buy the Wittner Metronome?

Buy if

  • You want a metronome that closely matches the furniture style of your piano

  • You're tired of the "chirp" of digital metronomes that aren't pleasing to the ear

  • You want an acoustic/natural sounding "click" when using a metronome

  • You want the best looking metronomes around for your music room

Don't buy if

  • You want to listen to a metronome with headphones on

  • You need an extremely quick metronome capability otherwise not possible with an analog metronome

  • You need portability

  • You don't care for aesthetically pleasing metronomes

Analogue Metronomes

Piano Metronome styles

While the analog nature of this metronomes is not as perfectly accurate in tempo as a digital metronome, old-fashioned analog metronomes are a signature piece of equipment for dedicated students.

The digitally reproduced "beep beep beep beep" of a digital metronomes don't provide the warm homely "Click/knock" sound that one of these "real" metronomes provide.

I would take the repetitive "knock" of this metronome over a digital "chirp" any day of the week!

Wittner Metronome Features

High quality exterior finish

Wittner offers a wide variety of finishes to match the furniture of any piano. With over 7 options, choose the finish that matches best for your piano

No batteries Required

This metronome has a simple wind-up knob that allows for hours of use after turning the knob a few times.

Enjoy limitless use of this analogue metronome the old-fashioned way. No batteries, no glitches, it just works.

Real acoustic sound

The "click"/"knock" for practice sounds natural, unlike the "chirp" of a digital metronome that can be abrasive and off-putting.

Enjoy a natural sound and "un-plug" from electronic devices when enjoying your daily practice.

Acoustic Bell

Choose whether a bell sounds when playing different time signatures.

For instance, you can choose that a bell rings at the start of each measure when reading 4/4, 3/4, or 2/4 music in time.

The bell can be turned off by pushing a switch all the way in.

Acoustic Metronome Sound

Dwell in the analogue sound this metronome provides without need for electricity or digital components.

This analog metronome only needs to be wound up every so often to return it to proper working condition for hours on end.

Piano Metronome

Resting gently on the lid of the piano, the metronome is a delicate and charming addition to the decor.

It's instrumental nature goes well with the acoustic piano feel of the piano room.
