My (Kevin's) Previous Work Experience

Almost 10 years ago I graduated from Berklee College of Music and interviewed with Faust Harrison Pianos to work in Piano Service as a Piano Technician/Tuner.

Since that interview, I've been fortunate to work alongside the team of technicians at Faust Harrison Pianos for the past 7 years and beyond.

The additional growth I've had working here has been invaluable and would hardly be replicated elsewhere.

Matthew Banks and Kevin Busse

In brief, that's the experience that helped me earn the job at Faust Harrison Pianos, where I continue to learn and grow by the day!

To add, before I worked at Faust Harrison Pianos I had quite a lot of real-world Piano technician experience. I started out by attending The Piano Technicians Guild (PTG) meetings, earning an apprenticeship, and passing my Registered Piano Technician (RPT) exams. This included the tuning exam, repairs, and written exam all while taking many classes and seminars along the way.

While the RPT exam isn't sufficient to effectively measure an excellent job or a skilled technician, it's an educational tool to "get your foot in the door" and network with many other technicians.

After completion of my RPT exam in 2015, I then worked 2 years at Family Piano Co. in Waukegan, Illinois. I tuned, regulated, and repaired pianos everyday while I worked there.

I went back to Boston, MA to finish my Bachelor of Music at Berklee College of Music. Towards the end of my college career I also trained & worked on the pianos at the College Campus as a Berklee College of Music employee.

Upon Graduation, I joined the team at Faust Harrison Pianos.
