DeWALT Drill: 20V Max Cordless Driver Kit Review
So, here's my DeWALT drill that I've had for about 7 years now.
It's worked like a charm, I haven't had any issues with it. In fact, I prefer it partly because it's on the smaller side but has plenty of power.
I was going to demonstrate in the video how the low battery indicator looks like when it needs charging, but it charged so quickly that I didn't have the opportunity to demonstrate how it flashes when there's low battery.
It charged so quickly that it was done charging within 5-10 minutes! Honestly, it was probably closer to 5 minutes.
The only thing I didn't like about this drill kit is that one of the batteries died, so I had to buy a new one. The kit comes with two batteries and only one of them died.
The batteries aren't cheap! They cost about $70 each when you're not purchasing as part of a kit. Overall, buying the extra battery was the worst part, but other than that I love it!
Thankfully, one charge lasts a few days even when you're using it throughout the day.
The drill has an adjustable torque setting that allows you to select exactly how much pressure you'd like to exert on the screw.
It also has a drill setting so that it will use maximum torque without any "give." I've hardly had to use this setting and I can't recall that the drill was ever insufficient for what I needed.
The drill is equipped with a handy light that I've found to be very useful. It certainly helps when you don't have a hand to hold a flashlight.
I typically use this drill for tight spaces because of the smaller size. I also carry a right angle attachment for screws that are nearly impossible to reach.
As a Piano Technician, I chose to purchase this drill due to DamppChaser installations which require a smaller drill to work among the beams of a piano. This drill specifically has worked out well in this regard.
The kit comes with a DeWALT bag, however, I recommend getting a larger bag so that you can fit more tools inside.
I purchased a larger DeWALT bag because I often store other tools with the drill. The larger bag allowed me to continue adding to the amount of useful tools I had in my bag. This helped me create one of my own favorite tool kits to this day.
So, that's the story of my DeWalt Drill! Let me know if you have any thoughts to share!
